Same behavior on windows. I did the clean install under WinXP, saved Blizard
registry before starting the diablo 2 and then compared with the ones after i
visited the Battle.net.

So there are three intros:
 1. Blizzard
 2. Blizzard NORTH
 3. "1st Cinematic"

When i remove the following registry keys, i got the 3rd cinematic back to wine
on Diablo2's start up :

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blizzard Entertainment\Diablo II]
"CmdLine"="-skiptobnet"
"UseCmdLine"=dword:00000000
"Resolution"=dword:00000000
"Aux Battle.net"="216.148.246.34"
