Did you guys make sure you chose to save the colony?  I made a save at the
beginning of this map and just re-tested that it still doesn't work (Wine
1.3.15).  After looking at the OpenGL documentation a little, it looks like the
older versions of the spec do not require that floating point number
calculations follow IEEE 754.  So, I'd say it's likely that different cards
will handle this reciprocal operation differently.
