If definitely seems like an occurrence of bug 6971 since the xinput2 patch
(http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6971#c434) fixes the problem for me.
Remember that your X server needs xinput2 in order for this patch to work (see
bug 6971 for details).
