That's a different bug (Bug #23616).

No, that's a byproduct of the hack used to get the radio working.

You should probably report a bug for this problem, I assume this happens
without the patches attached to this bug due to the way you resolved it.

This sounds like an unrelated problem, does this occur without the patches?
