Just tried HL2 with Wine 1.3.27. Bug is still here and unfortunately things got
worse: italic subtitles fonts now look even worse than before. I suspect that
this might be somehow related to the "Infinality" freetype patches I use here
and/or with Wine/Xft/FreeType fonts AA algorithms being used. Going to check
with vanilla FreeType + disabled AA and Hinting and also going to compile an
older version of Wine and check if this is the regression in Wine itself.
