I am having the same problem still. I am not sure if it is a wine issue, a
graphics driver issue, a combination, or just me :-) Glxgears works for me.

I tried wine 1.4, but that did not help. Trying an old version of the graphics
drivers is a bit cumbersome (have to downgrade Xorg), so I wanted to see if
someone else is having the same problem first.

Graphics: GeForce 8500 GT

Sketchup 8.0.11752
Wine 1.5.2
nvidia-drivers 295.40
Xorg server 1.11.2
