The log says

so it might be opengl-related.  Do other OpenGL programs run well?
What card and driver are you using?

Also, can you confirm the problem happens with the downloadable version
from http://download.cnet.com/Hoyle-Card-Games-2005/3000-2647_4-10398756.html ?
