I have the same problem with X3:Reunion (Steam version) in Wine 1.5.10. Using
only built-in dlls the game hangs during (after?) the intro videos, so it never
reaches the main menu.
After installing native amstream.dll and disabling winegstreamer (because of
bug #30557) I can get in the game, but videos still not working. 
These messages filling the console endlessly when the game hangs with a black
screen after starting:
