I am able to reproduce this bug with Wine 1.5.6 in Debian Sid.

During the character creation, when I enter the spell selection, all clicks
result in double-clicks as described in the first comment. It makes Arcanum
unusable with Wine.

I am attaching the log obtained with "export WINEDEBUG=warn+all" set.
