These use cases used to work fine before wine started using Xi2, so it looks
like the fallback path is bugged.  In any event, I'm not planning on supporting
mouse input as relative because too many "other" things start going wrong. 
You're welcome to submit a patch in the related XQuartz bug you filed, but I
won't be working on that any time soon.
