Well, this bug is old, but it still happens (yes, with vanilla wine 1.3.36) IF:

* You use fglrx.

* In amdcccle (amd catalyst control center) go to "3D" - "More Settings" -
"Enable Catalyst AI", put the slider to the right to "Advanced".

Then Warcraft3 will look quite broken. It's not only the menu borders, but also
the buttons will lack the "click-effect" and I believe in-game is also not
good.

This setting is meant improve the performance on using driver optimization on a
per application basis. But it apparently rather breaks stuff.

To "fix" this, simply put the "Catalyst AI" slider to the left to the
"Standard" setting or - probably better - turn it off.

So this is probably after all really invalid and a problem in the amd/ati
driver. But maybe still worth looking into?
