There is not much to discuss. The thing that I and others do not seem to
understand is how "we've made the DRM protection actually work in Wine" is not
a form of circumvention.

If someone could answer that, then I imagine people would have no reason to
keep posting about this. You can deride me for not posting something that fits
your concept of a productive comment, but I am merely the messenger. Also, as
far as I can tell, comments discouraging unproductive comments are themselves
unproductive.
