Using yesterday's git, clean ~/.wine, and the instructions from comment #20 the
installer doesn't crash.  I didn't let the installer finish the entire download
(need the bandwidth for other things at the moment) but it doesn't crash after
a few seconds once the most recent Launcher is running.  I let it run for about
10 minutes total and had no crashes until I closed the Launcher (which is a
separate bug).

As far as this bug is concerned, it works for me.
