This is not a real regression. As you say, this installer never installed
correctly but happened to get far enough into the installation that you
were able to use the app. I'll repeat here that you can work around the
"msi regression" support by specifying DISABLEROLLBACK=1.

Lets try to fix the bugs. Can you please attach a +msi trace?
