In my case, it is not a crash. When you run Skype, it asks for data of a new
account - and when you start typing something in the right panel (account
data), after 5 seconds the whole windows freezes, and clicking it again display
window about unresponsive app, and you can only Force Quit.

The same installation runs OK, in windows 95, 98 or ME modes, and crashes or
freezes in XP, 2000 or NT4.0 modes. 

Clean wine 1.3.37.
