Sorry to butt in here, but considering GyB's problems with bug Bug 18101 -
which is another bug regarding infinity engine and file manipulation, seeing as
me and GyB get very different results for both these bugs, perhaps we should
try to identify any differences? 

eg, I'm using opensuse 12.1, kernel 3.1.10-1.16-desktop and get my wine from
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Emulators:/Wine/openSUSE_12.1/ which
list wine version as 1.5.9-178.1
