I'm experiencing this same issue on Max OSX 10.7.4 with wine 1.5.5 from
macports. As the previous poster mentioned, there is no global /etc/inputrc on
the Mac and my ~/.inputrc does not set the enable-keypad option. Also, wine is
not crashing and I'm using the command 'wine notepad' for testing.

Using the 'read' command to get the escape sequences for the arrow keys I found
that before running wine the up/down arrows produce "\e[A", "\e[B", but after
running wine they produce "\eOA", "\eOB". So adding these to my ~/.inputrc
works around this problem without having to launch vim, but it would be nice if
wine did not change these in the first place.
