I think this bug is fixed. I play the Steam version of Borderlands for hours at
a time and aside from occasional graphics stutter, the game is quite playable
(and quite addicting) at 1920x1200 with max gfx settings.

NVIDIA GTX 480 w/ 295.40 drivers
i7-920 w/ 6 Gigs of RAM
