ok, followup. i've installed the patchset and you have roughly the same
experience as with the original dsound.dll. Sound works much better, less
stuttering but still present. the sound in civ doesn't crash after a minute but
it still is stuttering roughly 2-4 times a second. The video in vlc had no
problem with the sound except for running asynchronous but thats something
different i think. Otherwise my guess from listening experience would be that
it is linked to multiple sounds that are played toegther now, if that makes any
sense. Should I put toghether another log with the patch installed?
