I also experienced the problem on World of Warcraft which is installed on my
Windows partition and started with wine and the WoW "-opengl" commandline

Playing works flawlessly for a while and even switching Desktops and Alt+Tab
works when suddenly wine seems to take over the GPU and either WoW is in
permanent fullscreen and no alt+tab is possible or WoW draws the ingame Mouse
cursor on my desktop.

When this happens i sometimes am able to switch with strg+alt+F1 to a console
and kill wine but sometimes all input seems to be redirected to the game or is
completely ignored.
