Tried on  Debian Squeeze , wine-1.4, the 3 patches worked!!
also a .deb was created with "checkinstall" in case you are interested.

PS: this was my first time patching ever, a tutorial explaining how easy it is
maybe more people will try it, took me like 2 hours to learn how to.
