Today I downloaded and installed Teach2000 8.53 (teach853.exe) in a fresh .wine
on Fedora 16 x86_64 with wine 1.5.1. It still gives "Invalid floating point
operation" error when opening the program. (I don't know how to "hear" an
empty T2K-file).

As I suspected, the bug disappeared when I replaced

   ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/syswow64/gecko/1.5/wine_gecko/mozjs.dll

with the mozjs.dll attached to bug 30465. If you use a 32-bit WINEPREFIX, then
replace "syswow64" with "system32" in the path above.

This test strongly indicates that this bug is a DUPLICATE of bug 30465.
