Build the latest libxcb from git without any additional patches (should be
version 1.9 and use it, see http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=17203 -
but skip the parts "wget ..." and "git apply ...") OR try "Add the X11/GL lock
back around XCheckIfEvent". The libxcb version test is preferred. If it fixes
the issue, then it's a dupe.

There is no statement about if it is a regression... If it is and the libxcb
test doesn't solve it, please run a regression test

Wine should not be able to lock down your computer. You may try to switch to a
terminal and back (strg + alt + fX) and/or run the game for testing proposes in
wines virtual desktop.
