I see, it's the app that's painting all over the screen. It's reading the
contents of the root window into a bitmap much larger than the header area,
blending the header into it, and re-blitting the whole thing. That's clearly
broken behavior on the app part, but it doesn't explain why we would get
garbage in the bitmap.
