As of wine 1.5.22 I still have this issue. It is identical in every respect to
this bug report(same cause and error messages) and is 100% reproducible on my
machine. The fix is also the same, install DircetX9 and the problem goes away.

I used both the 32 and 64-bit builds via Play on Linux with the same results.
