I logged this with wine first as other games, eg., HOMM3, do not exhibit this
behaviour.

I've already downloaded the linux demo - will try it out soon and the windows
demo.

I'm running Gnome 3.4 so likely compositing, although I've read that Gnome will
turn it off for full screen apps.

Also I notice that this is DirectX 7.
