[Bug 33170] Sid mayers Alpha Centauri crashes at start

I did look at the appdb for all of these, but those were not very helpful
because these programs I installed are rather old.

For example this :

It says that these were tested in 2010 and now its 2013. A lot of versions
between and issues that those had are not likely to be the same anyway. I did
look for hits in existing bugs but for no avail. And I have Mac OS and those
are Linux. 

FAQ and Bugs pages you indicated, are timing out indefinetelly so I cannot look
at them. 

But of course the issue could be the same as you said. If I only would get a
glue of from where to look at ? Do you have any suggestions what should I do ?
I have other games on wine/mac and those are ok. Only these fail.
