I did a Fresh install of Medieval Conquest on my laptop under Wine 1.7.4 which
is the newest version of Wine available in the Funtoo Portage tree. I ran the
MCUpdater.exe and updated the game's data to make sure it was running the
latest update available. Then from the menu I started the game. The opening
movie played smoothly, but there was no sound or music. I selected to start a
new game, and the "Loading" screen froze at 4/5 completion. I had to switch to
another VT and kill the process. Below is the output on the terminal from which
I started Medieval Conquest. Please note that the last line of output,
"fixme:d3d_shader:shader_sm4_read_instruction Unrecognized opcode 0x43,
opcode_token 0x003a0043.", repeated ad infintum until I killed the process, so
there and numerous pages of that one error message repeated over and over.
