On windows _getmaxstdio returns 2048 in msvcrt.dll and 512 in msvcr90.dll. The
MSVCRT_max_streams value should be changed. Changing MSVCRT_fstream size
doesn't make sense.

I would like to take a look on the demo before changing MSVCRT_max_streams.
Most probably the game is leaking file handles due to some other bug.
