Hi Janhouse,
on my computer using an up to date x86 archlinux, lightroom is working well
(unlike you).
on my computer using an amd64 Ubuntu 12.04, I experience the same problems as
you.
I wonder if this is a matter of graphic card because lightroom is supposed to
offload some operations on the graphic card via directX...
Can you guys tell us what graphic cards you use?
For me :
Integrated Intel HD4000 : not working
Integrated Intel N5xx : working
