I'm afraid so. I'm not sure what else to reply, beyond repeating comment 4.

But card detecting aside, I think that the issue you're really trying to solve
is some features being disabled in the game, and it's likely to be an unrelated
issue. Perhaps a WINEDEBUG="+seh,+tid,+d3d" log will contain some helpful
information.
