I don't have the Steam version of the game, but the single-player demo version
produces the same crash/backtrace as the ones in comment #4 and comment #5.

I believe it is a duplicate of bug #25362. With a Nvidia gfx card and binary
drivers installed you need to start Jedit Outcast with
'__GL_ExtensionStringVersion=17700 wine jk2sp.exe'.

Can you reproduce the problem with the version as well?
