I have completed additional testing. Clean wine 1.7.19 with the patch I posted
at bug 33723 as the only modification. Clean install of Origin into a new
wineprefix, and then installed the Qt5Network.dll binary patch from bug 31438.

I selected Plants vs Zombies Game of the Year, and it downloaded and installed
successfully. I was able to play the game just fine immediately afterwards - no
stuck processes left hanging around or any other problem.

So it certainly looks like this bug and bug 33723 ("EA Origin needs job
objects") are the same.
