The Gw.dat does save the settings of the game (including the video settings)

I'm having the theory that the game switched on your actions the video settings
(for example the resolution) and recovering/restarting doesn't logically work
then. It would be interesting to know how the game reacts if the game would be
started with such a Gw.dat on a native Windows.

Maybe this issue is even just a window manager issue for example by setting a
strange resolution that would never be set on Windows.
