I installed Hungarian version from:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/9/3/2/9322E5F0-4E93-43BD-A88F-A874FD8344F2/ExcelViewer.exe
in clean (new!) WINEPREFIX.

Loads fine for me.

Can you provide the document or link to something that causes a crash upon
load?

Also I don't see 'abandon' as valid bug solution here.

Either it works or not.
Maybe Béla could test too.
