ODBC SQL Server or mySQL

Hi,
I need to run a visual basic app that accesses SQL Server.
Does anyone have any experience with ADO and wine?
Does the current state of wine support ADO?
Should I use a connection with an ODBC instead of ADO´s SQL Server Provider?
How does ODBC support work in wine?
Has anybody made mySQL windows ODBC driver work under wine?
The app can also acess mysql....but preferably accesses SQL Server.
