Just about everything here halts after a few minutes:

The easiest way to reproduce it here is switching to another workspace
and back again.

After reversing the patch everything is as stable as before.

Debian unstable, glibc 2.3.2 on standard kernel 2.4.22 - no nptl - and
xfree86 4.2.1.
