Just confirmed with cvs head.
This indeed seems to be causing the deadlock on XIM as well.
commented this line out and it looks a lot better.
I was "carpet bombing" daily cvs builds up to december 1st. I guess I had 4
more days to go until I discovered what was causing this. ;-)
