Hi Tom,

for my view (ie. opengl) your patch seems correct
Only waiting to see what AJ think about added escape codes

Anyway i'll prefer to have an escape code like
 create_hw DC (ie using pbuffers)
a la create_glxpixmap

I'll be usefull for wined3d too
