Sorry, I'm not familiar with either diff or the debian bts. That's why
I tried mailing the stuff to you (and to wine-patches). I did a

diff /tmp/dos_fs.c dos_fs.c > dos_fs.c.diff

and attach that to this mail. I surely have to learn how to diff
and submit stuff to debian, but right now I don't have the time
to work through all that and I don't know of a simple programm to
access the BTS. :(

There are also some packages which have quite old versions in Debian
e.g. balsa. I downloaded the new tar.gz from Gnome and patched it
with the diff from Debian which worked great. If I knew how I'd maybe
upload the new version to Debian, but I don't.

If you don't like this patch, throw it away. HOMM3 works for me now
and I though "Hey... tell people how to make it work".

Thanks though.... when I've learned how to use all the stuff, 
i'll probably less nerving and more helpful... ;)
