docs update

We don't need to ask people to add stuff to .cvsrc as all the things specified
there are also specified on the command line,
at least in the docs and in lostwages. The command 
cvs -d $CVSROOT update -D "2002-06-01 15:17:25 CST
returned a list of commands I can use with cvs, so I guess it's broken.
Also use CDT instead os CST as CDT is used in the CVS archives.
