so is for native linux (*nix, really, but most wine newbies use linux)
shared library.  I think some of the opengl or ddraw or something
libraries have linux as well as windows implementations, and wine can
use these.

Sorry, I am GUI challenged.  I have no idea.  commdlg?  Do buttons
constitute a dialog?  Or is that a menu?  My windows mailer won't do
attachments unless I pay for the service, so I compose mail with pine
and use a winelib program to force it to send them.
