It's a TrueType handling problem as you have seen (the
GetCharABCWidths trace).

I have tried a quick and dirty patch and found that indeed
implementing TrueType  correctly should fix this app as the
notes are displayed as a TrueType font.

You can have some hope for the future as - AFAIK - Codeweavers lists
this as a goal for Wine 1.0,  and one of the Wine contributors (Huw 
Davies) is said to work on it.
