KDE 2 is now very stable (I'm using it with XFree86 4.0.1), and it's
very smart to recompile the kernel.

Anyway, if you REALLY need the 2.2.14 kernel (like me with my losermodem
- thanks god I get a newer version of the driver today... :) ), you will
need to install the packages kde-support and kde-libs only. That works
also if you install the KDE 2 and wants to use the KDE 1 programs.
