Emulation vs Virtualization

running the application. I much prefer to boot Windoze to do the
installation (often in VMWare), then back to Linux to run the program in
Wine.

Thanks .... now that sounds like its worth trying. Seems one needs to have a
"real" Windows installation on the same hard drive to get applications
installed though, so whats with the claimed ability of wine / bochs / etc to
run Windows applications natively ??
