This is a mega-FAQ for Half Life :-) This means that you have a very old
HalfLife binary and need to upgrade to a more recent one. The updater works
very well in Wine BTW :-)

The short story is that the old versions of HalfLife use a now completely
obsoleted OpenGL extension that is not mentionned anywhere in any OpenGL
documentations.
