Eh... there's always that third option... reverse-engineer the thing. (a la
WINE) Of course, you'll end up just as slow going, and with drivers, a half
working component is not really a component at all.

I find it regretable that so many companies are not seeing the benifit of
open-source.  Take nVidia for example.  Two days ago or so, they release the
0.9-7 drivers, but guess what? they still don't work with the current XFree
CVS... Until two days ago, you didn't have the RENDER extention, and a lot of
stuff.

Surely, they must realize that they are selling HARDWARE, and not the drivers. 
At least, that's what I'm hoping they're doing.

Anyways, I shouldn't get much more off topic than I already am... *mumbles to
himself*
