error when installing win97 word/excell

You should install it under Windows, not under Wine. Pretty much no
MSI-style installers are known to work at this time, due to missing
interprocess windowing functionality. This is still under development.

(Not that I understand why all these people are so obsessed with Office
under Linux anyway... and every single one seems to ask the same
question... and it doesn't help that we suddenly also got a guy here that
insists on giving bad answers to all the newbie questions around there)
