Good free Web Graphics Progmans

My comment about how "hard" GIMP is to use ... Shortly 
after installing my CorelLinuz system (which installs The 
GIMP as part of the process), I needed to send someone a 
screen capture so they could figure out what I was doing 
wrong about something.

Two minutes after starting The GIMP for the first time, I 
had my screen capture done and ready to send off with a 
mail note.

I think it works pretty well ...

By the way, I believe the poster wanted a function to 
automate performing a set of functions on images. 
Wouldn't The GIMP's ScriptFu be usable for that?
