./configure errors

trying to compile wine from source I come up with the following errors 
after ./configure

creating graphics/Makefile
sed: can't read ./graphics/Makefile.in: No such file or directory
creating graphics/enhmetafiledrv/Makefile
sed: can't read ./graphics/enhmetafiledrv/Makefile.in: No such file or 
directory
creating graphics/metafiledrv/Makefile
sed: can't read ./graphics/metafiledrv/Makefile.in: No such file or 
directory
creating graphics/win16drv/Makefile
sed: can't read ./graphics/win16drv/Makefile.in: No such file or directory
creating graphics/x11drv/Makefile
sed: can't read ./graphics/x11drv/Makefile.in: No such file or directory

does anyone know how to create those files or where I can get them.
